Marie Elena Bliss is no stranger to the Hampton Roads area. Marie recently made Hampton Roads her home upon retirement from the Navy Music Program as a Chief Musician and Music Instructor with 24 years of service.
Her musical career forged ahead as she took on responsibilites as Assistant Choir Director and piano accompanist at Thomas Nelson Community College from 2005-07. She completed her praticum with the Virginia Children's Chorus, and has directed the Old Dominion University Concert Choir . She has also performed with the ODU Opera Workshop performing in Suor Angelica. She is a keyboard accompanist in the ODU Music Department. Marie serves as Music Program Director at Naval Amphibious Base Chapel. She recently completed her Masters in Music Education from Old Dominion University and works as adjunct faculty ODU teaching music history.She performs locally as keyboardist and vocalist with various jazz and classical music ensembles. Marie also finds time to record digital music accompaniment tracks for all types of performing ensembles.
